A recent study by the National Academy of Sciences predicted the so called "GREEN" refrigerants, like the HFC blends R410a; R407c and R134 - will contibute to global warming if left unchecked.

Geothermal Heating and cooling systems are quickly becoming mainstream, thanks in part to new federal and state tax credits aimed specifically at "Green" technologies.
Geothermal loop installations for years has been a cumbersome undertaking, utilizing 44,000 lb water well drilling equipment, very capable or drilling water wells and large bore-holes in general, but not suited to the proper meticulous installation and grouting and fusing of earth loop fields.

There is much political and emotional debate regarding enlarging the power grid capacity. Locally the debate centers around AES and a non-local companies desire to build additional coal sourced generation facilities within the River Valley area.
Not to minimize the various concerns from job opportunities to health concerns - this really is a simple equation.
America consumes 50% of all the energy produced in the world, yet we only make-up 10% of the population.
